Want to straighten your teeth without wires? Remove your Braces and GO WIRELESS! Can you actually do that? Check this out…

July 3rd, 2008 · 1 Comment · Invisalign News

Let me guess, you have a crooked tooth you’ve been wanted to get straightened for years, but the thought of orthodontic wired braces just scares the geebies (is that really a word) out of you.

Good news for you…those days are over!

I’m sure you’ve heard of Invisalign before. If not, then sit back and enjoy because Invisalign Aligners are your new best friend. If you have heard of them, then sit back and enjoy my dental recommendation at the bottom of the page…it will save you time and money at your next dental visit.

So what is Invisalign anyway? Basically Invisalign is the invisible way to straighten your teeth without the traditional wired braces. Align Technologies uses a series of clear removable aligners (yes, I just said r-e-m-o-v-a-b-l-e) to straighten your teeth without metal wires or brackets. It’s become one of the greatest dental inventions ever made. Whoever thought you could actually straighten your teeth without wires and brackets? I never thought the day would come, but guess what? It has! So let’s check out some of the benefits to Invisalign.

Customized: Your Certified Invisalign Dentist will take precise impressions and customize your set of aligners so they work as effectively and efficiently as possible for your teeth.

Removable: Did you ever think the day would come when you could remove your braces? Okay, so you can’t remove traditional wired braces, but with Invisalign Clear Aligners you can do just that…REMOVE THEM! Eating, drinking, brushing your teeth and flossing is now just as easy as it was before you started straightening your teeth. Got a special occasion coming up and you don’t want to wear your aligners? No problem! Remove your aligners for the night and go have fun, but remember to put them back in when you get backJ

Effective: One of the greatest benefits of Invisalign is you can enjoy the benefits of your beautiful smile even before your treatment is done. No more waiting for the brackets to come off before you see results; with Invisalign you see your results daily.

Comfort: With traditional wired braces your gums and cheeks get sore and irritated. With Invisalign aligners, the edges are round and smooth so they won’t irritate your gums or cheeks. Can’t ask for anything better than that can ya?

Clarity: Have you ever seen someone with traditional braces cover up their smile with their hand, or maybe not even smiled at all? That doesn’t sound fun. No worries, Invisaligns’ clear aligners are virtually invisible so no one will even know you are straightening your teeth. Go ahead…Smile!

I’ve heard of invisalign before, but wasn’t sure exactly how they worked. My kids have traditional braces, but I’ve been thinking about getting some for myself. I’d definitely prefer these clear wireless, to the silver nightmares my kids wear. Are they as effective as traditional braces, or do they take longer?

    Hi Colene,

Thanks for your question. Invisalign is a very effective treatment plan for straightening teeth. In most cases, an Invisalign treatment is shorter than traditional wired braces. Sometimes even several months shorter. However, Invisalign cannot treat everything. There are certain cases where traditional orthodontic braces are the only way to go. For the majority of cases though, Invisalign Aligners are a better choice. Invsalign can treat many types of orthodontic problems. The best recommendation is to consult your dentist and see if you are a candidate for Invisalign.

    Thanks,
